I’m going to scream.
You would think, sitting at 6-1, with a team almost everyone thought would be lucky to finish 8-8, Packer fans would be a little more upbeat. But it seems the better they do, the more fans find things to complain about. Weather it’s someone fretting about lack of depth at the running back position (if I read one more fool asking why the Packers haven’t signed Corey Dillon yet, I’m going to go postal..) or some delusional idiot complaining about the offense in general, I can’t believe the vitriol that emanates from the Motherland these days.
In my opinion, the people who rip McCarthy are the worst. Reading and hearing people who say he’s a horrible play caller, blah, blah, blah are just downright ludicrous. My question to those fans would be simple: How badly do you want to become a football coach? Because Mike McCarthy worked overnight at a TOLLBOOTH so he could be a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh. How about you? What did you sacrifice because you wanted to be loud-mouth know-it-all on your barstool shouting about how stupid McCarthy is?
I hope people will stop to think about these things the next time they feel the urge to spout off on McCarthy’s job as coach. Does he have weaknesses and limitations? Of course. All coaches do. But he’ s earned the right to expect a little bit more respect from Packer fans.
