Expectations coming into the season:  Get healthy and get back to speed.  Mulumba became the next line of undrafted rookie free agent linebacker to make the Packers team in 2013 after a solid preseason showing but was derailed in 2014 with a knee injury that cost him the entire season minus 2 games.  With the outside linebacker rotation set with Julius Peppers, Mike Neal, Nick Perry and (sometimes) Clay Matthews, Mulumba would be counted on mostly on special teams.

Player’s highlights/low-lights: Mulumba really didn't have any highlights; 46 defensive snaps is a pretty telling number given how multiple the Packers defense is and near the end of the season Mulumba got a couple snaps at inside linebacker, with similar futility.  Perhaps the biggest lowlight was getting only 1 tackle; to give you an idea of how bad that is, Bruce Gaston, a rookie free agent defensive tackle who played 2 games for the Packers before getting cut and signed by the Bears also has 1 tackle.

Level of Expectations met:  Given the severity of the injury, which cost him basically the entire 2014 season, not much was expected from Mulumba, realistically making the team and contributing to special teams was probably the best case scenario.

Grade: C

Player’s contributions to team success:  Mulumba was essentially a non-factor; 46 snaps over the season is basically nothing, a defensive starter who plays the whole game can usually expect somewhere between 60-75 snaps.  1 tackle also doesn't really help matter much either.  Mulumba's 2% tackle rate is by far the worst of any outside linebacker, Jayrone Elliot saw the second least snaps and had a tackle rate of 8.4%.

Grade: F

Player’s contributions in the playoffs:  Mulumba saw 4 snaps on the regular defense, likely when the game was well at hand and 7 on specials teams.  Worst of all, Mulumba was inactive for the Cardinals game.

Grade: F

Intangibles/misc: It would have been a feel good story if Mulumba had managed to overcome his 2014 injury with a good performance in 2015, but Mulumba was consistently buried on the depth chart and didn't factor into any game.

Grade: N/A

Overall Grade:  F

Well he made it through the entire season on the roster so that counts for something I guess

Pass rusher...can never have enough of them.

Problem is finding the right time to play/rotate them.

Forgot he was even on the team. I could probably name 50 of the 53 at any given time. Of those three, Mulumba would have been on the list..

I always think of the heart he showed running on a bad hamstring against the 49rs in the playoffs. Who knows if he makes the team again, team has moved on. But you never know.

This is the tale of draft and development, too much coaching, money and time wasted on a hunch. The vikes have no undrafted, mostly fourth rounders at the least level. Players ready to play and contribute. The Andy mulumbas make others do the load rather than filling in for relief. Ejdresult, very tired guys in the fourth quarter teddy boy

Yeah maybe that's why the vikes sign the Packers cast-offs like bostick right away... since they have all those other guys ready to contribute right away...

You really need to actually check your statements. The Vikings had 17 players on their opening day 53 man roster who were undrafted rookie free agents when they joined the league. That's 32% of the Vikings roster. I'm not even counting the practice squad and IR.

I doubt he'll be back. I don't see any reason why the Packers would keep him. I agree with the grade. Thanks, Since '61

I think if all the other OLBs are back he will be gone. But if both perry and Neal are gone they'll keep him. Or better if 2 of the 3, Neal, peppers, and perry, will be gone they're going to keep him. Personally I think peppers will leave and perry shown the money by someone else...

Unless their is a big money difference Perry is going to go be a 4-3 defensive end somewhere else. He's always been a poor fit in Capers 3-4 and Thompson made a critical mistake drafting him over Doug Martin and Harrison Smith, two guys who would have really helped the team.

Always liked his size and measurables. He will have to show something during the next TC.

Let's face it, a kid from the Congo who spent his teen years honing his football skills in Montreal is a longshot. If he is an excellent athlete and can excel at the thinking part of the game he might fill a role for the Packers.

This is the year - stay healthy and move to ILB.

He looked good stunting from the inside in preseason. Can't really gauge a lot at that time but seemed worth a try at some point.

Given how brutal Palmer was at ILB I'm surprised they didn't get Mulumba in earlier. I can only guess that meant Mulumba was even worse at ILB.
