45-Man Gameday Roster Prediction Vs. Bears
Safety Atari Bigby and fullback Korey Hall are predicted to be active for Sunday's NFC Championship after sitting out last week's divisional round matchup.
Below is the Packers' entire roster. Players in bold text are those I predict to be inactive on Sunday against the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game:
- QB: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Flynn, Graham Harrell
- RB: Brandon Jackson, Dimitri Nance, James Starks
- FB: Korey Hall, John Kuhn, Quinn Johnson
- WR: Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Brett Swain
- TE: Donald Lee, Tom Crabtree, Andrew Quarless
- OL: Chad Clifton, Daryn Colledge, Josh Sitton, Scott Wells, Bryan Bulaga, Jason Spitz, T.J. Lang, Nick McDonald, Evan Dietrich-Smith
- DL: Cullen Jenkins, B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn, Howard Green
- ILB: A.J. Hawk, Desmond Bishop, Matt Wilhelm, Robert Francois
- OLB: Clay Matthews, Frank Zombo, Diyral Briggs, Erik Walden
- CB: Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields, Pat Lee, Brandon Underwood, Josh Gordy
- S: Nick Collins, Charlie Peprah, Jarrett Bush, Atari Bigby
- ST: Mason Crosby, Brett Goode, Tim Masthay
Notes:
- Another tough week for predictions with the biggest question whether the Packers go back to Korey Hall and Atari Bigby and who they put on the inactive list in their place.
- Frank Zombo has been ruled out for the game.
- Jason Spitz is listed as questionable, which is a concern seeing as he didn't practice at all on Friday. But he was also questionable last week and still played, so the guess is he'll play again.
- Safeties coach Darren Perry told Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that they're going to try to "get him some snaps." With little else to go on, the guess is that he plays this week ahead of cornerback Brandon Underwood who was active last week.
- The most difficult decision came with making Matt Wilhelm inactive instead of Korey Hall. Wilhelm has been on special teams units for the past several weeks, but somebody's got to sit down if Hall is going to play.
- Dimitri Nance, Nick McDonald, Evan Dietrich-Smith and Josh Gordy were all inactive last week. I don't see that changing unless Spitz can't go.
- Graham Harrell will be the designated third-string emergency quarterback.
- One player I could be wrong about is Jarius Wynn. He didn't seem to get a ton of snaps last week against the Falcons. The defensive line would love to have his services if available, but they could also live without him if need be.

You made the right call on Korey Hall. He has to play. He has been our special teams coverage/blocking MVP, along with Jarret Bush.
If there's ever a game we need those skills, its now.

I agree I figured with Hall and Bigby coming back Underwood and Nance will be benched as those two provide special teams help. Remember the first bear game Bigby was on the PUP so he could be a hug difference in the ST department.

Yeah, I think you're pretty spot-on here - The Pack is going to bring out its best ST unit for this game. I really hope Masthay does as well as he did week 17. He was a HUGE factor in that win, probably more than he gets credit for, and he should be nice and rested after skipping the Falcons game :)

Nagler,
I saw Coach rocking a Kangol getting off the bus in Chicago. I would have never guessed it, but he looked good in it. Some people can pull that look off I guess, so far I've found 2, He and #12. 8-)
